Monochrome Start #19

A lack of focus and time really effects any art I do. Today the heat and other tasks conspired against me.

A 1 hour, somewhat rushed and un-focused monochrome start didn’t turn out well. But it wasn’t a massive failure. I was able to add some white into this burnt umber mixture with some success to get the values a bit closer.

Again my normal tendency is to make things bigger as I get further away from the head. I need to always keep this in mind and make extra horizontal measurements when moving down the figure.

  1. Yeah, I see what you’re talking about with the further away from the head you get, it gets a little off the mark.
But I have to say, I think this one is beautiful. It’s reminiscent of Waterhouse, I think.
