I feel like I’m on the home stretch with this painting while I work on all the background items.
Painting these pencils is going to be a lot of fun with a ton of focus. In order to make them look believable and not just a mass of orange and yellow I really need to focus down on all the specific shapes. I don’t have to get super detailed but I do need to make sure that each brush stroke is describing something well. While at the some time trying not to get lost.
What went well?
I completed the pencil holder which was harder than I thought. It was difficult to get this awkwardly shaped pottery piece to look as thought it took up space and had form.
What didn’t go so well?
I have a busy day today so I only spent an hour on this painting.
What did I learn?
Focus is key for very complex and busy areas of geometric shapes.
I drew kiddie so fast that I had time to start another sketch.
