Figure Drawing

More and more daily figure drawing, it’s all about the grunt work.

I read this great quote today from the Learning to see website and I think it really encapsulates my figure drawing repetition.

The most effective stuff is generally characterized by what looks rather like grunt work. Grunt work and repetition.

Practice makes permanent.

The more you practice something, the more deeply it becomes embedded.

The good thing is that I find the grunt work enjoyable, most of the time.

  1. Yes, my CrossFit certification course discussed that practice improves coordination, balance, agility, and accuracy. But you also have to practice TECHNIQUE, and practice the moves correctly, otherwise it doesn’t actually change you. I have seen some dramatic changes from the day you first started 3 + years ago in your accuracy, and I’m sure there are other areas related to fitness and wellness that you have improved on, too.
