My Most Productive Month Ever

After my most productive month ever of art I decided to take a very easy day.

This month I’ve spent over 115 hours, including today, on art. Plus I’ve already surpassed my record of 611 hours of art in a year back in 2017. With 5 months left in the year I hope to surpass 1000 hours of art this year and I feel amazing just looking at all these numbers and the wall of art I’ve created.

I don’t think I could have done all of this without the help of all the wisdom at Optimize.me and putting it into practice. The main practices that I attribute to my motivation and output is the following.

  • My daily Carpe Diem. Where I write my life goals, identity, virtues and behaviors that I want to embody every day.
  • My daily protocol. Which is a list of items that I do daily that will get me to my ultimate goal.
  • Scheduling my art time the day before so it works with my wife’s schedule.
  • Keeping connected with other artists and trying to give back to the community.
  • Using online resources such as, Proko, Watts Atelier, New Masters Academy, various artists I follow and YouTube art videos to bolster my motivation.
  • Writing down all my ideas to implement now or in the future.
  • A regular fitness schedule.
  • A regular sleep schedule and prioritizing sleep above all else. This is perhaps the most important. I couldn’t do any of the above if my energy is not right.

The 250 box challenge is up to page 9 and I need to re-commit some focus to this.

A nice easy day celebrating my most productive month ever.

What needs work?

Commit a little more focus on the draw a box exercise.

What did I learn?

My motivation is so high that even my easy days are about 2 hours of work now, hahaha! LOVE IT!

  1. Maybe you can share this post to Optimize Oasis. This is a huge accomplishment, and it is a true attestment to your commitment to what’s important in your life. (Giving up video games in pursuit of something more meaningful) That’s like YOU!
