Today I decided to take a short art morning and focus on catching up on piles of to-do’s that I need to get done.
I started the morning with a warm-up because I forget to do this so often. Then I moved onto the next exercise in The Natural Way to Draw.
The exercise is called Group Poses. Here I find images of groups of people that are overlapping in some way. Then I draw them, or try to draw them as a unit.
Yesterday, Pattie and I went on a long walk and happened to pass by this awesome girl on a pink bike wearing a unicorn helmet. Even though she gave us a scathing look, she was still cute.
She was about to ride her bike down a very steep concrete slope to meet her siblings. Maybe we were disturbing her focus…
Harry Potter Drawing
I only worked on Harry Potter for about a half hour, so not much has changed since last post.
I’m constantly trying to build in more structure into his features, but at the same time not get it too dark.

What went well?
Being creative early in the day feels great!
What didn’t go so well?
Dealing with some lower back pain, so I’m constantly uncomfortable while drawing.
What did I learn and/or how can I do better?
Over all it was a good, yet short art morning. I did learn that smudging, smoothing, brushing or putting on charcoal in any other way than straight from the pencil or stick looks bad in my opinion. Either it is bad, or I just need to learn how to do it correctly.
