I’m trying to describe more with less but I find myself getting way too detailed on these drawings.
I feel that simplicity or describing more with minimal lines is a skill that takes years of practice. Many of the artists in history start out detailed and as they mature they find they can say more with less. Look at Rembrandt’s paintings on a timeline and you will see this.
What went well?
I worked hard on this drawing today.
What didn’t go so well?
I want to learn how to let go of the detail and the subject I’m looking at and focus on the feeling.
What did I learn and/or how can I do better?
Push myself to do less. Or describe more with less. Feeling over detail. Connection over perfection.
