Open Studio: Lisa

I really didn’t have a lot of intense focus today to pull out some really good drawings but the distraction was partly worth it.

We had a very good discussion about objective measures of performance in art making, namely, is there any. I found the responses from the other artists very interesting and worth pondering.

For myself, I’m daring to think differently and feel that there is definitely ways to objectively measure performance in art making, especially for those just starting out. I plan to really get deep into this and come up with a cohesive training program that any artist can follow with success.

Regardless, it’s a fun day when I can draw from the model.

What went well?

Some great discussion with the other artists and I’m really beginning to enjoy graphite.

What didn’t go so well?

My focus was pulled away from the drawings for most of the session due to the intriguing discussion.

What did I learn and/or how can I do better?

Maybe save the discussions for lunch time after the session so I can focus better, or have discussions that don’t provoke so much thought.
