I’m going to be giving a few classes at Jansen Art Center in the spring so I’m preparing for “Drawing Your Pets” by drawing my own.
I’m really excited to be giving these workshops / classes it will be my first time teaching a group of other artists and I hope to learn a ton and meet some wonderful people. While at the same time bringing some new life into the drawing and painting studio at the Jansen Art Center
Here is my drawing of Winnie, she passed away a few years back but it’s still wonderful seeing her again and immortalizing her in a drawing. I did a painting of her years ago also but it turned out way too dark so I’m planning on doing it again sometime in the future.
What went well?
Back to charcoal and newsprint which I thoroughly enjoy plus I’m happy with the drawing of Winnie.
What didn’t go so well?
I could have spent more time on Winnie and fixed some glaring issues that I now only see in the photo of the drawing.
What did I learn and/or how can I do better?
Remember to always check my work with a photo, it is by far the best way to “get away” from my drawings.
